Landscape  

The Barrack Point headland is part of the Permian Gerringong Volcanic series of rocks that consist of trachytic tuff with pebbly bands (Wollongong Geological Series Sheet SI 56-9).

Bathymetry & Substrate

The outlet discharges in 10m water depth approximately 130m offshore of Barrack Point. To the north of Barrack Point are Warilla Beach, Windang Island and the entrance to Lake Illawarra. To the south is an unnamed beach and then the two rocky points that form Shell Harbour.

Currents, Winds and Waves

No ocean current monitoring data in the vicinity of the outfall were available at the time of writing.
